What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you submit a message to us using our contact form then you consent to your email address and contact information being processed for the strict use of handling your query. We will not use this information for any marketing or promotional material. Information submitted via our Contact Form will be sent to an email provider our choice and every effort will be made to ensure this data is stored and processed securely.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Who we share your data with and how long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Alongside this, we may share your data with our 3rd party payment processing providers – Square, WooCommerce, and PayPal. By purchasing from our website, you consent for your data to be shared with these companies for the strict purpose of processing your order/payment. 

Your contact information

Where we collect any personal/contact information we will make every effort to store these securely. If you decide to subscribe to our newsletter then your name and email address will be shared with MailChimp for the sole purpose of marketing. If you wish to withdraw from this service then you can reach out to us via our contact form or alternatively, you can press the ‘unsubscribe’ button within the email.

Alongside MailChimp, we may share your data with WooCommerce, WordPress and it’s third parties for the sole purpose of providing our services to you. We will never sell your data and will never use your data for anything else but Forfeit & Co. services.

How we protect your data

We utilise an SSL certificate to ensure that your connection to our site is completely secure. We work with both Stripe and PayPal for our check-out systems, therefore, you can rest assured that security for Forfeit & Co. is taken very seriously.

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the event of a data breach, we will notify each customer via the email address on file and if appropriate, a statement will be issued on our social media handles.

What third parties we receive data from

To ensure that Forfeit & Co. is offering the very best services for our customers, we will utilise data provided by social networking sites and Google Analytics. When required we may need to share your data with our fulfilment company to process your order. We will never sell your data or use it for any other purpose than to provide our service to you.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

Apart from our ordering system, everything we do is done manually. This includes moderating comments and writing our content.
